Community Guidelines

Last updated: July 29, 2026

These guidelines describe what is allowed on Athlnet, how reports are handled, what measures may be taken, and how to challenge them. They complement the Terms of Use and are published in accordance with Article 14 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 on digital services.

The principle

Athlnet exists to find training partners. Anything that diverts the platform from that purpose, or that puts someone in a difficult position, does not belong here.

These rules apply to everything you publish: profile, photos, descriptions, private messages, voice messages, activities, groups, and polls.

What is prohibited

Harassment and intimidation: repeated unwanted messages, threats, humiliation, encouraging others to target someone.

Hate and discrimination: speech attacking a person or group based on origin, supposed race, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

Unsolicited sexual content: sexual imagery, unwanted sexual solicitation, persistent advances after a refusal.

Violence: threats of violence, glorification of violent acts, content celebrating serious offences.

Impersonation and deception: pretending to be someone else, using another person's photos, lying about your age or identity, creating multiple accounts to evade a sanction.

Invasion of others' privacy: publishing personal information, photos, or conversation screenshots concerning a person without their consent.

Commercial misuse: soliciting, advertising, recruiting, selling products or services, including under the guise of a sporting activity.

Endangerment: proposing an activity that is manifestly dangerous for participants, or encouraging risky practice without basic precautions.

Unlawful activity: any use of the platform to prepare, facilitate, or commit an offence.

Protection of minors

Athlnet is limited to adults and enforces a zero-tolerance policy against any form of child exploitation.

Any content or behaviour amounting to child sexual exploitation results in immediate and permanent account removal and a report to the competent authorities.

Detailed rules appear on the Child Safety Standards page.

Meeting up and safety

Meetings arranged through Athlnet take place between people who do not know each other. Choose a public place for a first meeting, tell someone close to you, and end any exchange that makes you uncomfortable.

The identity verification badge guarantees neither the behaviour, nor the intentions, nor the abilities of a user. It replaces no precaution.

In case of immediate danger, contact the emergency services: 112 across the European Union, or 15, 17, or 18 in France.

How to report

From the app: Profile > Report a problem, choosing the appropriate category. For a safety concern, choose the Safety category.

By email: contact@athlnet.app.

A report may concern content, an account, or behaviour. Describe the situation as precisely as possible: that is what allows a swift review.

You always receive an acknowledgement of your report, then a notification of the decision taken.

How reports are handled

Every report is reviewed by a person. Athlnet uses no automated decision-making for moderation, and no content is removed by an algorithm.

Reports concerning personal safety and the protection of minors are handled as a priority.

The review takes into account the reported content, its context, the exchanges concerned, and any history on the account in question.

Possible measures

Depending on the severity and repetition of the breach, Athlnet may: remove content, hide a profile from suggestions, restrict access to certain features, temporarily suspend an account, or delete it permanently.

A serious breach — endangering others, manifestly illegal content, harm to a minor — may lead to immediate removal without prior warning.

When a measure is taken, the person concerned is informed and receives the grounds for the decision, in accordance with Article 17 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065.

Challenging a decision

If you believe a decision is unfounded, you can challenge it by replying to the notification you received or by writing to contact@athlnet.app, explaining why.

Your challenge is reviewed again by a person, as far as possible different from the one who made the original decision, and you receive a reasoned reply.

This review does not deprive you of any judicial remedy.

Cooperation with authorities

Where a report gives rise to a suspicion of a criminal offence threatening the life or safety of a person, Athlnet informs the competent authorities, in accordance with Article 18 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065.

Athlnet responds to lawful requests from judicial and administrative authorities.

Point of contact for users and authorities: contact@athlnet.app. Accepted languages: French and English.
