About Athlnet
Updated September 30, 2026
Athlnet is a free app for finding people to train with near you. It is published in France by one person rather than a company, and it has no subscription and no paid tier.
The problem it solves
Most sports are not practised alone. In tennis or padel, without a second player there is no session at all. In running, cycling or the gym, training with others is mostly what makes you come back the following week.
Finding those people stays surprisingly hard: clubs ask for a licence and a slot, group chats go quiet, and social networks show people training without ever saying which of them is looking for someone now, at that level, in that neighbourhood.
How it works
You pick your sports and your level, and the app shows the profiles around you, filtered by sport, by level and by distance.
Anyone can post an activity: a sport, a place, a time, a number of spots. Others ask to join, and a conversation opens with the participants.
Regular partners go into a group, which comes with its own chat, polls to settle on a slot, and activities offered to the whole group at once.
Free, and what that means
Every feature is available without paying: no subscription, no in-app purchase, no limit unlocked with money.
The site you are reading sets no cookie and carries no tracker, which is also why it asks you nothing before it displays.
Meeting someone you do not know
That is the real question for an app like this one, so several things exist for it. Identity verification is optional and displays a badge: a person reviews a document and a selfie. The community guidelines state what is not allowed, and any profile, message or activity can be reported from the app.
For solo outings, live position sharing sends a link to someone you trust, who follows the route without installing the app. The link expires, and traces are deleted after seven days.
A verification badge guarantees neither anyone's behaviour nor their intentions. It replaces no precaution, and the community guidelines say so in those words.
Where the data is
The database, the files and authentication are hosted in the European Union, in Ireland. What is collected, why, and for how long is described in the Privacy Policy, and an account can be deleted from the app without writing to anyone.
Who is behind it
Athlnet is designed and built by Sid-Ali Benchoubane, on a non-professional basis. There is no team, no investors and no ad network.
To get in touch: contact@athlnet.app. The app is also on Instagram and TikTok, as @athlnet.app.
What exactly is Athlnet?
A free mobile app for finding training partners near you, posting sessions open to others, and organising your training in groups. It is available on iPhone and Android.
Is Athlnet really free?
Yes. No subscription, no in-app purchase, and no feature reserved for a paid version.
Do I need a club or a licence?
No. Athlnet is attached to no club and no federation. An account and a sport are enough.
Which cities does Athlnet work in?
Anywhere: profiles and activities are filtered by distance rather than by city. The app is more useful where people already are, which today mostly means the larger French cities.
Who publishes Athlnet, and how do I get in touch?
Sid-Ali Benchoubane, a natural person publishing on a non-professional basis, reachable at contact@athlnet.app. The full identification of the publisher and hosting providers is in the legal notice.
